Where did the year go??

Here we are again – the holidays. Christmas…Hanukkah…Kwanzaa…whatever you celebrate (or don’t), we all find ourselves at this same point every year.

As you know, I don’t make resolutions for the new year. Let’s face it – who keeps them? Everyone wants to lose weight, get fit, save money, whatever the goal. By January 15, those resolutions are abandoned.

No, I prefer to think of goals for the coming year. Things I want to do. BUT – if I don’t do them, it will be ok. No pressure.

I am going to make it super easy on myself for 2025. My goal is…TO FINISH THE BOOK.

I have been working on a contemporary romance adjacent to the Love at the Woolly Bookworm Shop universe. It was going okay until Hurricane Helene hit.

My neighborhood was largely spared the worst of the devastation. The damage to people and property around me is unbelievable. Simply put, the world of the Woolly Bookworm Shop does not exist.

It has been very difficult to find the words. We have all been in some form of survival mode for two months. Homes, businesses, and jobs were lost. Loved ones died. The very landscape itself doesn’t look the same. Will it ever? Can we rebuild?

So, for 2025, I just want to finish that book.

Let’s find out how quickly I can do it, because you know what’s next? Another book in the Through the Mist series! I have put off writing that one too. “Stuff” is gonna happen, and it will be epic.

Stay tuned – and thank you for reading!
